Point. But have the GOP ever fought w/ a position of principle? IE: DEMS would love a completely Socialist nation, the GOP comes along and says “No, but how about Socialist lite”. And thus the Leftward march continues.
Gun control laws are another perfect example. “Shall not be infringed”, except for background checks, 7+ round mags, non-import ‘laws’, etc. Where is the battle where the clarion call is loudly sounded saying “What part of SHALL not do you NOT understand?”
