They were not allowed to go outside because the park was closed. You can dispute the extent of the tactics enforcing such an order, but giving guests staying in hotels and campgrounds 48 hours to leave doesn’t seem like an unreasonable restriction to me.

How much will you personally tolerate?

The thing about the German people in the 1930s was their respect for and obedience to The Law. It proved to be their undoing.

It may well prove to be yours, also.

Oh really? Just tell me.......why in the hell should any human being be deprived of looking at a God given natural wonder? Moreover, why in the hell does the US government “own” a God given natural wonder and who in the hell paid for it in the first place?

So you think it is ok that the government can restrict the amount of time someone can stay in a f’ing hotel or campground on land owned by WE THE PEOPLE?

This is no different than what the American Indian experienced when they were restricted from their land and put on reservations. What happens when the shutdown ends and we STILL aren’t allowed to view Gods land? Are you ready for that?

Do you realize how silly that sounds? Holding a group of people in a building with armed guards at the door is not a reasonable thing to do in that circumstance. Nor is prohibiting them from stopping along the side of the road to look at the scenery and take pictures.

Closing buildings, or museums may be justified, but "closing" the outdoors, or the ocean, as was done in Florida, is just ridiculous.

As a thought experiment, consider how you would feel if some random person you were visiting decided that the lawn outside their house was "closed" and therefore you needed to stay in their house. And they stood at the front door with a firearm, ordering you to stay inside. I guess you'd be OK with that.

Huh? Our Founders would be repulsed by such a weak and pathetic comment.

Do you noy have the ability to understand that this Administration, if it knew it had the power, would likely exterminate millions of American citizens?

Do you not see tyranny before your eyes?

Please read the Founders. They viewed government as inherently EVIL...

As a second thought........I can only hope that an ADMIN MODERATOR, would tell you that you have 48 hours to leave this website and in the meantime, you can’t read, post or look around Free Republic. That doesn’t sound like an unreasonable restriction to me, does it to you?

IF you had traveled half-way around the world on a once in a lifetime trip you had saved years for & were treated like these tourists were treated, I think you would be singing a different chorus.
