What to do? This is a rare opportunity to really have an effect.

Call your State Reps and call Gov. Scott's office.

There is a meeting scheduled with Gov. Scott Wed.

Tell them that in 1980 the State Board of Trustees Dedicated the land areas of Volusia and Brevard Counties to the Fedgov to create the Canaveral National Seashore Park which was within their authority to do so. The problem is that they ALSO dedicated a large area of navigable waters also. This came to light in 2001 when the Park started requiring fishing guides to pay fees and purchase permits that amounted to several hundred's of dollars. These water areas deeded over to the FedGov are sovereign waters of the State and are held in Trust for the people and can not be wholly alienated from them. The Board of Trustees erred when they did this.

Make those calls and tell them to rescind the agreements and return ownership and control of our waters to the people of the State.

The State also made stipulations to the agreement. One was that the people will have the absolute right to fish on these waters except in time of “emergency” and then only after consultation with the State agencies. The Fed Gov is in breach of the Agreements on this point by closing these waters.
