How to embed a donation, or any other link, but in this case a donation-page link in a picture:

<a href=https://secure.freerepublic.com/donate/><img src=http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv39/fullersstuff/FReep/Thread.png></a>

the <a > command is like the <img > command. Img expects to deal with a picture link. A expects to deal with an embed of a link.

Copying and pasting the above <a href...> link gives you:

If your picture is for a FReepathon post, you may want to add some ad copy at the top or the bottom. I usually add it on the bottom, but you do not have to.

In this case, to complete the ad, the copy might read, "I love this thread!" "Please BUMP it and donate!"

The syntax would then look like this:

<a href=https://secure.freerepublic.com/donate/><img src=http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv39/fullersstuff/FReep/Thread.png></a><br><i>Click the Pic!</i><br><br><font size=4 color=red>I love this thread!<br>Please BUMP it and donate!</font><br><br>Please donate monthly if you can<br>

Which will give you:

Click the Pic!

I love this thread!
Please BUMP it and donate!

Please donate monthly if you can

Add a <center> command at the beginning, and an </center> at the end, and you have a nice FReepathon ad. Play around with the commands. Try different things and see what they do. You'll be an expert in no time.
