I watched the first episode of Walking Dead on DVD over the weekend. In one scene, one of the characters comes out of a hospital room into the hallway outside. The lights are flickering, there’s smoke in the air. At one end is a crowd of shambling zombies. Turning around at the other end is a group of soldiers in MOPP4 gear shooting patients with long, ripping bursts of full auto. The whole place is enveloped in a miasma of lethal pandemonium.
I thought, “Is this ‘Walking Dead’, or an Obamacare promo”?
I know what you mean. :-) We are surrounded by walking dead of sorts. They are barely intelligent, disengaged, mind numbed, driven by passions for eating and entertainment.
