Actor Jude Law and musician Damon Albarn have joined around 800 people protesting outside the Russian Embassy in London over the arrest of 30 Greenpeace activists.
The pair, along with Paul Simonon from The Clash, have called the arrests a disgrace and described them as a personal blow as their friend Frank Hewetson is among those being held.
Relatives of the activists have also organised several protests across the country for the six Britons who are in custody, and a further 47 demonstrations are being held around the world.

The French, of all people, took some very direct action against Greenpiss when their operatives sank its flagship Rainbow Warrior in a New Zealand harbor back in the 1980s. The Greenies were threatening to try to disrupt French nuclear tests. Non, non, non!! said the French. No one was killed or injured but the ship didn't delay any nuke tests either.
Terrorism is terrorism, doesnt matter if your carrying nicely printed signs ,green armbands, have a famous activist ship carrying you.
I applaud Putins Govt. Russia in many aspects, especially this matter. They seems to be in some or many aspects a more Christian nation than the U.S.
The Greenpeace terrorists must learn to only screw with America or England. Both Nations have become pussified. The Russins however refuse to be screwed with.
So Russia killing dissidents could move these folks to protest but threaten the sodomites or arrest hippies = instant outrage.
I’m liking old Putin more and more. Poke a finger in my eye and I’ll break your arm. Remember when America was strong and respected? I do. However my grand child will never experience that.
It’s a great credit to the Russians that they don’t give a rat’s ass about these misguided troublemakers.
Obviously, the Russkies don’t give a damn about overfed upperclass infants of the West whining about something or other.
Good Christ I bet Putin is hiding under his bed after seeing that pic!
Since Greenpeace is a known front for the global communism agenda, I have to presume these A-hole listers are themselves communists.
Did they find time to protest the closing of the WWII Memorial? I didn’t think so.
So will I!
They’re pirates. Keep them in jail. Also, the gigantic rainbow could be construed as trying to promote the homo agenda around Russian property.
“A-listers?”
Are we supposed to be impressed by this roll of Air-heads? What a joke.
They are.
These ‘activists’ were likely doing their usual, trying to sabotage legal activities, which is highly dangerous on a rig.
I noted three interesting points about the video on the website.
A) The usual leftist use of children as props. Disgusting.
B) one woman declared that green peace activists were not ‘nasty people’. If you’ve ever met one, you’ll disagree.
C) She went on to describe the rig as an “oil rink”. Now, I don’t know if they have “oil rinks” in the UK, but I can’t imagine they’re fun to skate on. What a moron!
No kidding! Remember when an ‘A-List’ was reserved for real stars like Frank Sinatra/John Wayne/Bob Hope/Dean Martin/Rita Hayworth/Joan Crawford etc. etc? These freakin’ kids wouldn’t know a real star like those if they all came back to life and bit ‘em on their butts!
Actually, a photographer was killed in the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior, and the Kiwis were very upset with France about it. When they jailed the French agents responsible for the manslaughter, they threatened to put EU embargo on NZ agricultural produce until they gave them up to the French, who made scarcely a token effort to punish them.
How far out from the building does sovereign Russian territory extend? Hint to the Russians.
Stanislavsky would be proud of how he’s channeling his anger with such subtlety.
It’s hard to tell if he’s upset about the Russians or if the waiter forgot to bring him his two tined snail fork.
