Decades after achieving civil rights and enjoying affirmative action, African-Americans in the US continue to be disadvantaged, suffering some of the highest unemployment and incarceration rates for minorities anywhere in the world. In many ways, the current shutdown is part of a proxy fight between deeply conservative white lawmakers who see the Obama administration's agenda as favoring blacks and minorities versus liberal legislators trying to set right historical and contemporary imbalances.

If African Americans ARE disadvantaged (and all the stats seem to show they are), in spite of all the government support and affirmitive action initiatives, why does no one ever report the obvious connection that those actions just simply are not working? Moreover, why does no commentator in the media point out that trying to solve a social ill by increasing amounts of the same bad medicine is sheer folly?

The conclusion I draw is that these programs are mostly designed to make white liberals feel good about themselves. Assuage all that terrible guilt and so on, and not to actually help minorities.

I conclude that they're a massive redistribution program. Jesse, Sharpton, the Chicago Revrun aldercreatures, and various assorted race hucksters get their snouts in the gravy train, and the more than enough which is left goes to the moocher class. The elites get their undying gratitude and their votes, many times even more than one per voter (and from moochers so grateful that they continue to vote rat even once they're dead). The only losers are the productive middleclass taxpayers who get nothing except the threat of fines, penalties, chunks of their labor stolen from them through confiscatory taxes, and all this at the point of (so-far) metaphoric gun, and a real chance of jail if they don't give the loot up.

That’s why it bothers the left not a jot that the redistribution of productivity through these “welfare” programs never works to ameliorate the stated problems, and why their solution, without fail, is to throw more money (middleclass taxpayers’ stolen wages) at the problem. Sure it doesn’t accomplish the stated goal-to “end” poverty, etc-but it gives them a bigger and growing trough in which to stick their snouts. That’s the important thing.

The term libs use now is “disparate impact.” That means if you have a situation where various groups of people were competing and one of the groups does more poorly than the rest, that group was affected by “disparate impact.” Leftists believe when people/groups compete in the marketplace, they should all have equal outcomes. That’s sheer folly or lunacy, but leftists use it to gain advantages for favored groups. Because the outcome was not to their advantage, it was unfair. That’s their “logic.”

Blacks have access to free public education, just like everyone else, yet consistently fail to take advantage of it. We have Asians coming here recently from other countries, speaking very different languages, and they are leapfrogging over blacks who've been here for 200 years.

"Oh, but blacks have inferior schools." Well, they are inferior because they are full of blacks who disrupt classrooms, cause trouble, perpetrate vandalism, and harass other students who are trying to learn. And those schools are typically run by big city teachers' unions closely allied to the Democratic Party, the party of blacks. If blacks can succeed in football and basketball, they can succeed in the classroom IF THEY WANT TO. NO ONE - INCLUDING THE TEA PARTY - IS STOPPING THEM! But they just want to be yammering, butt-crack displaying rapper-morons.
