Im not saying she should not have been taken out. I just question what started the whole thing. Ramming a barricade doesnt fit the evidence.
Tourists who were outside the White House as this whole scene began, said she drove up to the barricade/guard station (I think that one is permanent, not part of the govt shutdown) and when questioned, gunned the car, made a quick turn around, hitting one SS agent, and took off toward the Capitol, with cops in hot pursuit.
I avoid the White House, and have for probably the past 20 years, since before it was closed off to regular traffic @ ‘95 (post OK City bombing) so I’m no longer familiar with its guard posts. Hard to imagine now that we used to drive the road on its immediate East side every single day getting to work. That road is now a WH parking area, and we commoners can’t get within blocks of it.
I don’t know the full story, but a lot of posters here (who don’t know the full story, either) are calling SS and the Capitol Police “Keystone Cops” with no recognition of what they have to deal with every day. A mental case at the WH or Capitol is not exactly a rare event. The public never hears about 99% of them because these are highly trained professionals. This circumstance had some different elements to have triggered the series of events that became public.
