Obama is wrecking the Florida fishing industry now.
Thursday back in South Florida, a day after limits for the National Institutes of Health made headlines, it was the fear of food drying up and a prohibition on fishing in waters of Florida Bay that took center stage.
Charter guides received a message from the National Park Service this week informing them that they are not permitted to take clients fishing in Florida Bay until the feds get back to work. That means that more than 1,100 square miles of prime fishing is off limits between the southern tip of the mainland to the Keys until further notice.
The closing affects not only fishing guides, but anyone with a license to conduct business in the park, including tour operators and paddling guides — anyone with a Commercial Use Authorization permit, said Dan Kimball, superintendent of Everglades and Dry Tortugas national parks.
Biscayne National Park is also off limits. Enforcement rangers will be on duty, Kimball said.
To point out the obvious: If we’re in a “shutdown,” why are rangers out there at all?

Capt. Mike Makowski, owner of Blackfoot Charters in Key Largo, estimates this eliminates 60 percent to 70 percent of his hunting grounds.
“This is going to put a lot of guys together in a small area close to the park,” Makowski said. “It’s going to be even worse on the weekend when we’re going to have to compete with the recreational anglers.”
Florida went narrowly for Obama in 2012. May Florida voters learn the lesson that he is now giving to them good and hard.

I wonder if the same lawyers have considered going after the Administration for this shutdown — same thing, restraint of trade. On the other hand, BP had money. All the USA has is debts.

The main post office near where I work was blocked this morning. They had the mail trucks parked so you could not get into the parking lot and also blocking all the curbside mailboxes. Yes, I know the USPS is claiming they are still working, but in fact that is not the case here.
I suppose you could call the police and see whether they would tow the mail trucks away, since they are parked in “NO PARKING” zones, but I doubt that will happen.
Is he going to make general aviationists fly around federal lands if they want to travel somewhere?

Seems to me patriotic Americans are nearing their boiling point - Obama is not king - he is nearing the point of going too far. His flexibility is stretched to the breaking point and his insanity is beginning to surface.

amazing, isn’t it that ‘they’ could find the ‘talent’, time and resources to shut down websites, erect barricades, print closure signs, etc. all in a very short time span. Yet, their, precious Obamacare system which they had several years to prepare for is not working.

Wait until all the people who like to eat fish discover why their markets no longer have all the luscious fish from the Florida Keys. Maybe some of the dim bulbs Demos will start to question what he’s doing. NAH! They’ll eat prime steak purchased on their EBT cards.
