This appears to be a nationwide problem, with many law enforcement officers being members of imitation outlaw biker gangs in their spare time.

There used to be strict standards about how to comport oneself both in and out of uniform.

If you're referring to the Miriam Carey incident, she began the assault.

In the biker gang assault the police did not take part in the assault - they simply stood there and did nothing to help a citizen who could have been murdered by their thug friends.

What is just as repulsive is that the mob they were part of was engaged in illegally blocking off a public highway so they could perform hundreds of moving violations.

That highway is a main route for ambulances serving Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Blocking that highway was potentially deadly in numerous ways.

If there are five known officers in the group, it's likely this was a cop group.

What should happen (if Internal Affairs really wants to get to the bottom of it, rather than covering it up) is Internal Affairs should notify all of NYPD during the start-of-shift briefings, that anyone with knowledge of the incident who does not come forward with all he knows, will be charged with Misprision of Felony, plus all other applicable laws.

Then tell each of the five that they had better list the name of everybody in the group.

I think they should all be fired and prosecuted, period. There is nothing to sort out, they failed to perform their sworn duty. Or do you think it’s alright for them to stand back and allow this to happen because they were off duty?

Although www.frontlinesoldiersmc.com has been taken down, they have left various online traces, including an event where they bragged of being "blessed into the circuit."

Various gangs refer to initiations as "being blessed in."

I also find the references to "coming out" and "the circuit" intriguing as well.

I have no idea. What I do know is that law enforcement in NYC has been slacking off noticeably and increasingly since the beginning of Bloomberg’s second term.

They need to spend some time in the “big House”. These people should NOT be officers of the law, they shouldn’t even be employable.
