Just before the weekend, the National Park Service informed charter boat captains in Florida that the Florida Bay was "closed" due to the shutdown. Until government funding is restored, the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean. Fishing is also prohibited at Biscayne National Park during the shutdown.
The Park Service will also have rangers on duty to police the ban. Of access to an ocean. The government will probably use more personnel and spend more resources to attempt to close the ocean, than it would in its normal course of business.

Friends are reporting that all over the SF Bay Area. Places where police or rangers have NEVER been seen before now have them standing at the barricades preventing entrance to areas that are wild and completely unmaintained.
Let the shutdown continue, let the pain on innocent Americans rise to intolerable levels. Only in this manner can we expect people to remember in November and elect a veto proof majority to both the Senate and the House.
Good thing illegals don’t come across this way. If they happened to get past the rangers, I’m sure they’d regret it because 0zero means business.
As part of Gateway National Recreation Area, I wonder if they’ve attempted to close Jamaica Bay, Rockaway Inlet and the entrance to NY Harbor?
The State of Texas can now erect Barrycades around every Federal site and wire them shut.
Examples: federal Reserve of Dallas, IRS in Austin, EPA Dallas. And of course USCustoms and Immigration offices and US Border crossings.. Post Texas Rangers and DPS to ensure their safety.
