Cops perform a necessary function. Sometimes, they even prevent or stop crimes in progress. Depending on the community being policed, being a cop can be a dangerous and thankless job. For the most, you are right about cops not being there when you need them. They usually show up after the crime has been committed and the perp has gotten away. A 2nd Amendment activist on Youtube said it best, “Cops are not first responders. The person who witnesses or experiences a crime directed at them is the first responder. Most of the time, cops are, at best, 2nd responders. However, I don’t doubt the need for an effective police force. I just have more confidence in my ability to defend myself in their absence. I know when it comes down to it, chances are that I will have to take care of myself.

What is disturbing to me is that they didn’t stop this. It would not have taken much, but they didn’t do it. The cops involved should be removed. They’re not cops and they do not deserve the respect that we reserve for police officers. These people are thugs that are wearing a uniform and getting paid by taxpayers. Fire the disgusting creeps.
