I would have thought the Border Patrol were “excepted employees” and on the job 24/7.

If so, ordering them to stand down and not to the job they are being paid for is endangering U.S. security.

They are essential but they are not paid. . .they have to report to work because they are “excepted” but that is it.

Those non-essential types get to stay home and wait for back-pay for work they didn’t do, whereas the BP Agents have to work for their back-pay.
