Yeah, because nobody ever slaughtered millions of people before Darwin and Hitler came along.
That may be true but at least they had God on their side.
Actually, no one ever did - the concept of organized genocide did not exist before the early 20th century - beginning with the Communist destruction of the “kulaks” of the Urkraine.
re: “Yeah, because nobody ever slaughtered millions of people before Darwin and Hitler came along.”
Point taken. There was also Stalin and Chairman Mao, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Ming, etc.
I get your drift - what about all the people killed in the name of God?
I guess the only difference is, as to Christianity, so-called Christians who did commit such crimes did so in direct violation of everything Christ or the Apostles taught in the New Testament.
It’s also true that just because someone accepts Darwinian naturalism doesn’t mean that they are a barbarous murderer.
However, if you follow the moral implications of the theory - that morality is just an evolutionary quirk to help maintain the “herd”, the strongest and the fittest are the ones who have the moral imperative to survive and the weak, well, if they get in the way of the “strongest and the fittest”, well then, why not simply remove the “useless eaters”. They are a drag on the state and the healthy.
I’m in no way saying that is what you or many fine scientists believe, but that view, unfortunately, does not violate anything in Darwinian theory.
name an ideology that has matched that!!

communism, humanism, evolution......(?)
I think the first recorded genocide was that of the Canaanites by the Israelites. That was carried out not in the name of God but on his direct orders.
