‘We’re Winning’: Ted Cruz on the Latest in Washington Amid the ‘Government Shutdown’

Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) told Glenn Beck during a radio interview Thursday that conservatives are “winning” the battle in Washington over Obamacare and the “government shutdown.”

“We’re winning the debate,” the senator remarked. “That’s why they are scared and they are attacking us. The more shrill it gets, the more scared they are.”

.....“Why are they screaming so loudly? Why are they so personal? Why are they so filled with hate and fear? It’s because the American people are mobilized, are passionate and energized,” he said. “And even worse, [they] understand that Obamacare is hurting millions of Americans, and that has the left terrified out of their minds.”.....

I voted for the Cruz-missile. He is on target and packs a wallop.

You called that one right. What in the world is up with the cops shooting a woman with a small child in the car? She had no weapon. I’m sorry I’m just not able to get behind this one. The FOX news panel was practically cheering her shooting. I don’t get it. They could have shot her tires out then arrested her. This is totally bizarre.

I was wondering if the guards around the real birth certificate are on duty. Might be an opportunity for Sheriff Joe.

I hear you, but it’s not 1995 anymore. Today we have Al Gores’ internet, and the Tea Party, to name two critical differences.

I would take the demographics and electorate of 1995 America over today's America any day of the week. That country, just 18 years ago, would have laughed at the prospect of a marxist chicago muslim trying to be president. That country is gone. The Tea Party arose because a huge chunk of the country has gone socialist, been overrun by immigrants, legal or otherwise, or is just plain ignorant, uneducated and uninformed, a product of the education system. What I'm saying is we had more to work with then than we do now in terms of political muscle, and still we were saddled with puppy dog Rinos and a media that twisted the facts.

So, while I appreciate that the internet has helped somewhat in educating and informing conservatives, to a great extent it is preaching to a choir that is shrinking. We may have time to turn things around, but we have a much smaller margin for error than we did back then.

“Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, firing a warning shot back at Mr. Reid by reading a passage from Senate rules that forbids disparaging the motives of fellow senators.”

Oh now that was ballsy.

I would have told Reid to go screw himself.

“What in the world is up with the cops shooting a woman with a small child in the car? She had no weapon.”

It is a byproduct of the continued militarization of the nation’s police forces. Especially since 9/11.

I still have a feeling of unease at how easily the cops felt justified to execute this poor woman and orphan her child. I believe it was wrong. I wonder where Al and Jesse are?
