It’s not enough to say one is conservative in order to communicate the desire for small govt.; e.g., Santorum and Gingrich. Some conservatives are against the WoD. Some demand punitive consequences for homosexuality. Conservatism varies with no exact rules as to how the traditional values will be realized with the variable being enforcement.
That is mush.
But one obvious truth, when someone tells you they are a libertarian, especially on a conservative forum, they are telling you that they are here to argue against traditional values, because there is no argument on economics and small government.
