Why do you accuse FReepers of being the depraved things they’re not?
Freerepublic is not a republican site, and I and any other freeper will post on any thread that we bloody well choose to.
Perhaps you should appeal to management to move your thread to religion, and allow you to form a rino/GOP religious caucus, then only members of your party could post on it.

Over the last few days you have tried to classify me as something. It varies day by day. Today I’m a RINO because I propose a way to fix the GOP. Yesterday I was an OK because of agreeing with you that openly practicing homosexuals are bad for the military. The day before I was all “slippery” because I used Christian principles to make a point. On Monday I was an immoral libertarian pushing abortion, open borders, homosexual marriage, bestiality, etc. because I don’t believe social conservative values can be instilled through governmental force while maintaining our rights.
Tomorrow, what I will be according to you? Do you have any plans?

You are wrong, the social conservatives are what moved the GOP right under Reagan and who the rinos fight still today.
The rinos have always owned the republican party, that is why it was so repulsive. Reagan was a conservative and brought in the conservatives, defeating HW Bush in 1979, unfortunately, the rinos have remained in control.
Rinos despise social conservatives, the Reagan republicans and desperately want to rid the party of them.
You really need to stop personalizing your posting here and carrying baggage and personal grudges around the forum.

Many of us here know quite a lot about the republican party, the democrat party, the libertarian party and American political history, it is one reason we are long time members of freerepublic.

You're fooling yourself if you think you can take it back. Their control has deepened, not loosened. Have you paid no attention to what happened last year in Tampa, or what has happened since? Shoot, they're even embedding RNC minders in the state parties now.
Don't worry though. They'll be more than happy to let you take lower level positions, or to tinker around with the platform they ignore. They do need useful idiots and cannon fodder.

Yeah, I watched Tampa. Columbus, GA was bad enough. Columbus won’t be repeated, and if enough states can get their stuff straight Tampa won’t be repeated either.

I understand the thrust of your point, but alienating the principled conservatives isn’t going help.
I agree the Republican Party should be salvaged and the RINOs punted through elections/attrition. And I believe this can happen at the grass roots but it requires active participation from the regular folks not normally inclined to get involved. It also requires involvement from the so-called “quitter babies”.
Before getting too frustrated with those that fully reject the GOP, understand their frustration with the decades of deceit the GOP has inflicted on the constituents.
Currently, there are 18 GOP seats in the House that may deservedly go Democrat.

And the reason I asked is because most pundits and political experts tend to lump the independents and libertarians together. I think it’s interesting you’re qualifying your Independent affiliation with conservatism; a distinction from the Independent Liberal.

By the way, I tried it your way for more than twenty years. I was a state GOP official at one point, having started out as a precinct chairman. I’ve worked on campaigns at every level, in most parts of the country. I’ve helped rebuild GOP organizations from the local and county level up in several states.
What is your experience that can help lend credence to your chosen direction?
