NEW YORK POST Tourists travelling to Omaha Beach to pay their respects to the 9,387 military dead at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial will find it closed, a victim of the U.S. governments partial shutdown.
The site overlooking the D-Day invasion beaches is one of 24 U.S. military cemeteries overseas that have closed to visitors since Monday. The woods-colt should have been thrown out of office a long time ago.
They’ve turned the webcams off at Glacier National Park. The webcams. Unattended, and some of them run off solar power.
That about says it all.
Barrycading vets and their families.
Barry is a very vile and vindictive POS.
If a tree falls in a national park and a government employee is not there to document it, does it still make a noise?
What a Big Baby! Hello there O-Bots! How do you like him NOW?
What are the chances the Cheese eating surrender monkeys will help us out here?
We’ve been to Normandy. In all our time overseas, it was the best trip we ever made, anywhere. It was living history. Glad my husband was e able to serve under Reagan ... at least we can say we knew American when.
I’m sure as hell am ashamed of roughly 65 million American people, as well.
What bothers me the most is that evidently we are paying people in some back room somewhere to brainstorm, I’m sure on an ongoing basis for future opportunities, how to hurt the American people the most.
How else would there be “barry cades” at Mount Vernon and someone shutting down some small business on a river without a lot of previous thought and planning.
They’ve also closed a small inn on Cape Cod. it sits on land at The National Seashore.
You are not alone in your feelings.
Lucky for the Luxembourg-American Cultural Society that they finished their tour in Luxembourg last week. They always take a tour of the American Cemetery in Hamm where George Patton is buried with about 6,000 of his men who died in the Battle of the Bulge.
The Wrongest Day
He closed the City Tavern in Philadelphia which is entirely operated by private citizens. The land is owned by the Park Service, but the entire operation is privately owned. The only thing the park service does is cut the grass. I’m sure for a couple of weeks the people running the place would gladly do it rather than losing a couple of week’s pay. The clown sits there pontificating while 30 or 40 people sit there needing that money for food. I’ve watched these ‘shutdowns’ before, but the people in charge didn’t do this trivial crap. Come on democrats, grow up and let the working people work. These people will never get what they lose during the shutdown and some will be hungry.
