Obama has stepped in it big time on this one.
The WWII Memorial was largely funded with private donations.
I've been there often.
It's a passive walk through --- no active input from park rangers offered.
But now the "shutdown" government buys barry-cades and funds flunky federal employees to harass national hero WWII vets from visiting their OWN Memorial.
This is a magnitude of "acting stupidly" impressive even by 57-states-stupid standards.

Mark would get far more that a half million patriots. There is already gonna be a bunch of people there the weekend of Oct 11-13 for the truckers general strike. My guess is if this escalates, Emperor Zero (the first and last emperor of the US) will barrycade freeways entering the DC area.

This picture says it all. Who in the area is telling us when and where to Freep the Memorials? Has to be before the House caves in . . . hopefully stuff like this gives them more backbone but for the rest of us . . . well we need time to drive before they cave, and for that matter, they have held out pretty well so far.

All talk. Although you are catching a lot of flak tonight, I actually see your point. It's not that there might later on be an outrage committed against the WW II vets. An outrage already has been committed against those vets.

An outrage already has been committed against those vets. And they answered by breaking through the barrycades. They do not need our help yet. There is a reason why we call them the greatest generation. When they need our help, they will ask for it.

Just as another posted here, this memorial needs no federal employees to operate other than ground maint. or security against vandals in the middle of the night.
These vets are AMERICAN HEROS. Go ahead and arrest one of them...rough’em up a lil while your at it.
