However, I went to Mass everyday on the ARAMCO camp. The priests and ministers (only one minister for all Protestant denominations) were called "special teachers." So, I discovered that I didn't need a building to "be with God" and a priest by any other name was still celebrating Mass.
I had never gone to Mass every day, just Sundays, but I started to OVER THERE, and, on returning, still do.
ODD TO SAY, but I did discover daily Mass in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Does God work in mysterious ways, or what?
Amen ... Amen! Never lose self control but give ‘em heck for try to make you!
We held Mass almost every Thursday at the embassy in Jeddah. The Consulate auditorium was filled with US Catholics, Europeans, Filipinos, and Eritreans filling every seat and standing the aisles After I left, the Interior Ministry pulled the visas of both priests that served the community. There was a team from the Lockheed compound that leaped into the breech, and they celebrated priestless masses. While we were there we had to address them as “Uncle,” and not “Father.”
Yes, God does work in very mysterous ways. AMEN!
