The government shutdown will temporarily slash the staffs and operations of every “nonessential” federal program — which, as you can imagine, adds up to a whole lot of programs. There are the ones you know about, like the national parks and the panda cam. Then there’s everything else.....

Since the 0bama regime has apparently admits these “nonessential programs” can be eliminated, congress should take that list and eliminate each and every one. That's how you get started on reducing a $17 TRILLION debt.

Last night on his show Hugh Hewitt, who has long been a hand-wringer on this stuff, had done a complete 180 and was enthusiastic about the benefits of continuing the shutdown.

Seems to me ridiculous that the BLM is closing unimproved land, such as the scrubland/wasteland around here. I have seen only one BLM employee on that land in several years.
