That amount $328 per month is the national average for the mid-tier silver premium based on HHS calculations for approved plans in 48 states. The challenge, of course, is that like all of healthcare itself, your mileage will vary.
Both individual and family insurance rates will vary dramatically based on a host of variables. Those variables age, marital status, geographic location and income will each have a significant impact on the final monthly amount.
The most difficult single component in the equation is income which determines the amount of Federal subsidy any given taxpayer will receive toward the purchase of coverage on the individual state run public exchanges.

I am also a cash patient and have found the exact opposite, I pay MUCH
less by paying CASH! My mom and I see the same Dr. My office visit is
$60.00, she is on Medicare her same office visit is $160 .00 Medicare
actually pays $45.00. Target offers prescriptions for non insured at a very
low cost. I have an autoimmune disorder and paying cash has been much
less expensive than insurance!!
I know- was one of these drones, and it takes some kind of a mentation to do this to good people who are producing by any measure. Yet another example of the finance having nothing to do with the quality of work/product. That is, what the US manufacturing was famous for— loyalty in their workers, and high quality of workmanship.
This is not a paen to working class— but a statement of the work ethic that drove this country for a couple hundred years. So these bean counters who value nothing but their columns of number (rolling pooh into tiny rabbit pellets) have destroyed us.
hehe. Very good. (:
So if I understand you correctly, if I go into Target and say, "Here is a prescription my doctor wrote me for my asthma inhaler. What will it cost me if I pay cash, and what will it cost if I use my insurance to pay for it?" that the amount of money I will have to pay is more if I use insurance? That is not what I found last week. The charge at the Target pharmacy was $223 for my Qvar inhaler if I paid cash, $12 if I had insurance. No one would ever have or use insurance if it cost less to pay for medical services without it.
Thanks. I had forgotten that certain states were expanding Medicaid. Drive us bankrupt just a little faster. Tax those evil rich! /s
“...we STILL dont know whats in this legislation...”

That’s why I have said that anyone who EVER IMAGINED that this mess was ever intended or expected to work in practice was living in a dream world, naive beyond belief. How could anyone think that responsible legislators who were trying to solve a problem would ever sign a 2000 page mess while having absolutely no idea what it contained. They never read it and even if they had tried they could not have possibly deciphered it. Without seeing it I can guarantee that there are thousands upon thousands of references to paragraph C, line 3, subsection, clause, Santa Clause, iced bear claws etc. to the point that there IS NO CERTAIN MEANING other than what a bureaucrat may say it all means.
