I explained to fellow Texans in a note last Friday why they shouldnt support John Cornyn. Today comes further evidence. In an effort to further mislead Texans, and in an attempt to pretend his cowardice hadnt been, this deceptive politician, this un-Texan, has posted a phony poll on his website asking a question based on a false premise. The question itself is a lie. He asks: Do you agree with Senator Cornyns vote to De-fund Obamacare? The truth is that he didnt vote to de-fund Obamacare. Instead, he voted to permit Harry Reid and the Democrats to prevail. His poll is garbage.
This deception brands this man as a despicable liar. To explain for the readers not up to speed on the trick, John Cornyn joined with Democrats to close off debate on the House continuing resolution, permitting Harry Reid to amend it. After it had been amended, Cornyn then voted against it, along with twenty-four other sell-out Republicans. His phony poll on this webpage(see screen-capture of site below) asks if you agree with his vote to defund Obamacare. HE DIDNT VOTE TO DEFUND OBAMACARE! He voted to permit Harry Reid and the Democrats to strip the Defunding language out of the bill, so that he could vote against that amendment and pretend to have voted against Obamacare. The cloture vote WAS the vote. Texans arent stupid, whatever Cornyn may think of us, and I suspect that as the truth spreads, Senator Cornyn will be heading home for good next fall.
Heres the sleazy, dishonest poll on his website:
A number of Senators implied or directly accused Ted Cruz of trying to use the de-funding push to raise funds. Meanwhile, Cornyns phony poll is nothing less than an attempt to solicit email addresses and names so he can later solicit funds. More, since the poll is based on a lie, hes shamelessly misleading voters both as to his actual position and to the effect of his votes. Classic for it before against it nonsense! Naturally, theres no way to answer it without seeming to support him or Obama-care.
WOW!
They really believe we are stupid.
Texas TEA Party members are not as stupid as Cornyn thinks they are. Wait until he runs in the primary. His ads will be as crooked as this poll, but he will meet the same fate as Dewhurst did against Ted Cruz.
How do Texans tolerate this? I thought cattle rustlers got hanged from the neck ‘til they’re dead.
Waiting for a challenger (with a large wallet) to Cornyn is becoming a full time job.
Cornyn has to go.
Instead of "Remember the Alamo", they might be saying...
Remember Arizona!
.
Politicians, parties, and political groups of all stripes continuously conduct loaded polls. The questions typically set up false dichotomies with one clearly awful choice and an ambiguous choice that supports the pollster’s desired response.
Anybody who has ever given $10 to Republican or Democratic Party, or an aligned group that shares mailing lists, knows about such polls. I was a Republican back in the Reagan days, and I still get the Republican polls. My deceased Dad supported Democrats after he turned 65 and, since he lived with me for a while and his mail was sent to my address, I received the Democrat polls for years.
These are all frauds, but they enable talking headings on CNNFOXMSLSDNBCCBSABCETC to cite “poll results” that “prove” that the “American people” are on their side. It’s all phony regardless of whether practiced by Republicans or Democrats.
Indeed, it is possible to conduct an honest and scientific poll. However, to draw any conclusion from such a poll one must know the exact wording of the questions, the method used to select participants, the demographics of participants, and sample size. And, since most polling is done by landline telephone, one must consider that the sample is still biased since respondents consist mainly of people who answer landline calls from strangers and are willing to spend ten minutes answering a strangers’ questions.
He is clearly in it for himself
“John, you’re a bore.
We’ve heard this before.
Now, for God’s sake, John, sit down!”
John Cornyn’s staff registered the domain primarycornyn.com which I find pretty interesting.
