The countdown to the government shut own has come and gone.
For the first time in 17 years the U.S. government has been shut down after lawmakers in the House and the Senate failed to agree on a spending bill to fund the government.
We continued the conversation with Massachusetts Congressman James McGovern, a Democrat from the Bay State's second district. He joined us on the phone.
He reflects on seeing the shutdown of 1996.
At least back then I thought the Republicans believed in a public sector, and now this Tea Party wing of the Republican Party, they dont believe in government, period, said McGovern.
He said if a clean bill was proposed on legislation for the Affordable Care Act, it would have gotten support from Democrats and Republicans and prevent a shutdown.
They don’t believe in government yet they not only ran for Congress, they won and are serving. Nonsense. The Tea Party members don’t believe in the type of government this hack from MA wants - large and out of control.
McGovern is a far-left nut. Read what he says with caution for your sanity.
I really hate the digital age sometimes, the newscycles and msm!
