The House of Representatives tried but failed to pass three emergency funding bills Tuesday, amid much political finger pointing by both parties in the wake of the potentially drawn out stalemate over the budget.

If it actually IS a plan, it is a good one. Having gotten the entire senate democrats on record as shutting down government to force people to pay higher taxes (the individual mandate), they now have gotten most house democrats on record as refusing to fund essential government services.

The democrats say the republicans are hostage-takers. Well, the republicans just tried to release some of the hostages, and the democrats refused to take them. “Nope, you hostages just have to stay hostages”. So who is really taking hostages now?

I wonder about that too. It seems as though the republicans are going about this not to win but to put as much pressure on conservatives as possible to force them to cave. I really don’t recall the dems using a 2/3 requirement to pass Obamacare. I guess the GOPe leadership got its marching orders from Harry Reid. ‘Boehner! Don’t make us look bad by passing bills we’ll be forced to consider.’

The Dems love power and when they’re stymied they don’t have a deep game.

I would think the way they forced ObamaCare on us took a very deep game plan, and a little help from a traitorous GOPe.

The etHouse Republican caucus knew exactly what it was doing. Folks......no vote ever goes forward in either the house or senate without the majority leadership knowing the outcome before the vote is taken. Once, every so often, you can see an upset....but not with three repeating bills. IMHO....smart move by Boehner and the troops!!!

Also.....kindly take note that the Lee/Cruz, Defund Obamacare Petition which is still active added 20,000 signatures yesterday, now standing at 2,020,000 signatures. Please continue to get our folks to sign & endorse it!!!!

WWW.DONTFUNDOBAMACARE.COM....Remember folks....this battle is a protracted conflict...and will go on for a long time!!!! That is to our great advantage!!!

Why were 2/3 needed? What is a “suspension” bill?

Can’t they just pass with a simple majority??

The house failed? More like Harry Reid and the Party of Nyet didn't budge an inch. The Democrats shut the government down (Thanks Harry!!).

I truly hope the government is shut down for weeks. I WANT people to see they don't need as much government as we have. Its time to let a LOT of people employed by government (my tax dollars) go.

Sure is good to see the Rs doing it right in the House, it’s been a long, long time coming.

Yeah, it's about time the House GOP started to act like they have the power that they do. While only holding one half of one branch of the government, they do hold it and nothing gets through without their say-so. For too long they've just let the Democrats roll them.

Cruz's gambit both ignited them and kind of forced them into a corner. Once they took the first big step, they really can't back down now. The second Reid and Obama forced a shutdown rather than debate, the die was cast - the GOP is going to get all the "blame" anyway (no matter what the real story is), so there's no reason not to go for broke.

Reid's been playing politics with the budget process for years - refusing to pass a budget to avoid holding his members accountable for specific spending line items. But that's given the House tremendous bargaining power that they're only just waking up to the fact that they have. And it's payback time for Reid killing every single bill they pass without even letting it get to the Senate floor.

Reid and Obama also made a tactical error in passing/signing the military pay "mini-CR". Because that enabled the House to start saying "well, you passed that one, so here's a bunch more", letting the House pick and choose which ones to send, going for high-profile and generally non-controversial programs to force the Senate to either go along or be shown as the obstructionists that they are. Reid realized this mistake and is now killing everything, but it might be too little, too late if the House GOP keeps piling on.

At some point, even the MSM won't be able to sugar-coat the fact that it's Reid who's refusing to do anything. In the meantime, the GOP needs to hit the alternative media hard and really push this story. They have a winning hand, i only they will play it.

And it can’t be good for Obama and the dims to have pictures of WWII vets being barricaded from the memorial, have Pub congressmen open the barriers for them and then have them threatened with arrest.
Can’t be good for them to see Park Police put barriers up around the Lincoln Memorial when everyone knows it’s always open with or without park police...
This meme that it makes principled pubs look bad is just tommy rot.....

“Reid and Obama also made a tactical error in passing/signing the military pay “mini-CR”. Because that enabled the House to start saying “well, you passed that one, so here’s a bunch more”

Yes, i think i can now see a potential endgame for the shutdown. If they can get 2/3 in both house and senate for these mini-CRs, Obama can’t stop them.

We will see how long Reid can hold his people, but the house is nearly at 2/3 votes after one day! i think after a few days, the pressure will be on democrats in both house and senate to pass mini-CRs to reopen the popular stuff.

if they can start passing mini-CRs with a 2/3, support for obama/reid “no compromise” will totally disintegrate and it will be every democrat for himself...

the danger for republicans now is weak sister RINO treachery that votes for a clean CR and snatches defeat...

If Romney were in the White House today instead of Obama, we would not be talking about the implementation of Obamacare. I do not agree with those who think that a Democrat is remotely better than a moderate Republican. Romney would not be trying to destroy the country and its stature in the world. Obama should be impeached for the flagrant way that he has violated the constitution during the last five years, but, because of his race, he is allowed to get away with it. Romney was not and would never be my first choice for POTUS, but he would be light years better than the person we are stuck with for three more LONG years!

Obamacare has nothing to do with care, health or medical treatment.

Exactly. And in addition, it has to do with thousands of ACORN-like "community navigators" going door to door with the Zerocare paperwork, PLUS voter registration forms.

The donkeys' goal here is to recruit even more low-information voters. Whether or not they understand Zerocare is secondary.
