I guess that the radical lefties refusal to compromise is just fine with the lamestream media.
It’s not “compromise” unless it yields to the Left.
If Repubs had a bit more grit this would be great political theater. Non-essential people will be furloughed, and life will go on without them.
Then we need to make the point that, if they are non-essential, we don’t need to be raising their budget year after year. Maybe we don’t need that department at all.
