Moderates Revolt Over CR [RINO DEFCON 1]
Natonal Review ^ | 9/30/2013 | Jonathan Strong

For almost three years, the story in the House has been about Speaker John Boehner’s restive right flank causing him problems. But Republican moderates have apparently had enough.

In what is by far their boldest stand since the GOP took control of the House in 2010, a group of them are threatening to bring down a vote on the rule for the government-funding bill scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

New York representative Peter King is leading the charge, and his fellow New Yorker Michael Grimm is close behind him. The group told leadership on Saturday they have 25 members who are willing to bring down the rule.

That number of defections would defeat the rule, which, like all such votes, is a party-line affair. “How many of them are going to follow up today with the pressure and everything else, I don’t know,” King told me in a phone interview.

King wants to pass a clean continuing-resolution bill. “This is going nowhere,” he says about the standoff with Senate Democrats. “If Obamacare is as bad as we say it’s going to be, then we should pick up a lot of seats in the next election and we should win the presidency in 2016,” he says. “This idea of going through the side door to take something you lost through the front door — to me, it’s wrong.”

He must be the ‘unnamed’ congressman who said that making everyone live under the same law would hurt real people (staffers) like we aren't real people...we are just Neanderthals who don't deserve a break like those brainiacs in DC that work for them!

BOO FREAKIN WHOOO...

During the 1990s King enjoyed a close relationship with the Muslim community in his congressional district. King often gave speeches at the Westbury Islamic Center, held book signings in the prayer hall, took in Muslim interns, and was one of the few Republicans who supported U.S. intervention in the 1990s to help Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo. The Muslim community thanked King for his work by making him the guest of honor for the 1993 opening of a $3 million prayer hall. For years, a picture of King cutting the ceremonial ribbon hung on the bulletin board by the mosque’s entrance.[7]

I’ll bet King is doing it with a wink and a nod from Boehner.

“There’s some angst with the idea that it could hurt our staff and we don’t want to hurt our staff,” Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) said. “But you know, the law is the law and we need to stick with the law.”

Some conservatives, including Reps. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.), said they were unsure if the plan went far enough because it did not completely cut off funding for ObamaCare.

More centrist Reps. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) and Peter King (R-N.Y.) stood up to urge the leadership to bring a clean continuing resolution to the floor.

King said that as of Saturday night, between 20 and 25 House Republicans were opposed to sending over a new plan that would face certain rejection by the Senate and precipitate a shutdown. But he did not know how many would follow through and vote no on the floor.

“Enough people agree with me. How they’re going to vote, I don’t know,” he told the reporters.

King said he told his colleagues he would oppose both the proposal and a procedural vote to bring it to the floor. “I don’t want to continue to be a facilitator for both a disastrous process and plan,” he told reporters, summarizing his remarks in the conference meeting. He said he told his colleagues that “there are too many who are living in their own echo chamber.”

Makes me wonder more and more if King is getting his daily TV blurb from the White House.

The latest polling showed that a shutdown would hurt the Democrats so once again the Republican surrender monkeys need to jump in and make sure that our side takes the blame.

“I’ll bet King is doing it with a wink and a nod from Boehner.”

Probably. If we knew the truth most of them hate our guts and would say so if they could get elected without us! They have been in power in DC too damn long to understand the rest of the countries problems!

Their poor staff...boo hoo. Go find another damn job like the rest of us if you don’t like your working conditions and benefits! I’m sure they can find smart people who don’t have connections like most of you do which is how you got the job in the first place. Cry me a river!

So, what he wants is to just give in to the commies? Give them 100% of what little bammy has decreed?

I wonder just how many democrats would actually vote republican if the republicans give in to the democrats?

How about none?

On the other hand, how many republicans will give up voting for the republicans if the republicans give in to the democrats?

How about millions...

There will likely be more Tea Party Reps and Senators than now in January 2015. And the RINOS likely know it.
