With the prospects growing of a government shutdown on Tuesday, the White House said Thursday that President Obama has no intention of postponing a week-long trip to Asia that begins Oct. 6.
Our schedule remains as planned, said White House press secretary Jay Carney.
He said one of the presidents jobs is to ensure that promising economic markets are exploited for the benefit of Americans.
Thats one of his responsibilities. Hes going to fulfill it, Mr. Carney said.
The president will visit Indonesia, where he grew up as a boy, and the Philippines as part of a trip that will include attendance at an economic summit. The flying time alone on Air Force One will cost millions of dollars, at a time when the government could be temporarily out of money.

“I pray that his Asian trip is one way, with the plane coming back empty.”...
The plane doesn’t have to leave if someone got real busy real fast. Take the wheels off the damn plane, don’t fill the gas tanks, remove all the seats, arrest the pilots and crews, do what ever is necessary to keep the jerk right here (jail him?).
He is rubbing his power in the face of the American people. The trips he is aways taking are all to cause distractions away from his numerous scandals and NOBODY has the backbone to shut him down.
Time to defund Obomba
Have plane...will travel. Loser.
