Before his death Col. Cooper began carrying a small .22 auto instead of his typical 1911, while taking pleasure walks around his ranch. Maybe a Walther pp in .22LR.
He explained that it did no hit hard but it hit hard enough.
I feel certain the Colonel could have handed this guy with a shot to the face with his .22LR.
