“Boehner has lost the mantle of leadership to Ted Cruz and now has to put on this show to pretend he is a leader.”

Ted Cruz failed last week. That’s just a fact. I’m no fan of Boehner, but the house had voted to defund obamacare long before that vanity “symbolic” filibuster that didn’t accomplish anything.

Now we have a bipartisan bill that funds the government and the burden is on Reid to keep the government running.

And just what is your plan to keep the focus on Obamacare, burn up the phone lines in DC, and keep Obamacare defunded?

Or do you just gripe and complain?

“...before that vanity “symbolic” filibuster that didn’t accomplish anything.”

It may not have accomplished any substantive or procedural changes in the Senate, but some positives came out of it. I think it influenced the House’s response to the Senate’s bill; more people are tuning into to the details of the Obamacare disaster, the current and future harms it is inflicting.

It depends on what you define as failure. Did he win on cloture? No.

He gave a voice to those of us who are angry because the GOP has abandoned their constituents. He reminded us all standing on principle gets things done, things we did not think possible 2 weeks ago. It might start with baby steps, but we are moving forward.

The members of the House who were sent to Congress to repeal Obamacare gained strength as a group. They never would have consulted with Cruz had he not filibustered [not technically a filibuster, I know] last week. Boehner had no choice but to listen. He might fold yet, but if he does he will be seen as the loser he is. ( Gohmert caught leadership trying to be sneaky last night. Busted!!)

The dems are comparing us to:
1. slave owners (oppressors)
2. muslim terrorists (bombs strapped to chests)
3. Mafia (extortion)
4. My favorite: the GOP wil deny cancer treatment to every woman alive if Obamacare is defunded.
They are scared.

We are starting to unite. I would say that is a huge success.

In terms of that particular bill, perhaps. In the larger scheme, he focused attention within the Republican Party as to exactly how many Quislings are elected to the Senate.

Ted Cruz scattered more D.C. cockroaches in 21 hours than commentators, pollsters, lobbyists and special interests have in 21 years. That isn't failure. It sets the framework for long term success.

He also put immense public pressure on the House to stand its ground. That isn't failure either. It's reminding the American public and the Republican Party alike that the conservative base actually matters, and I for one appreciate that.

Didn’t accomplish anything? lol

He’s murdering the GOPe and the dems.

Look today he’s calling the Senate back and busting on the media for not calling the senate out.

Just damn he is the one driving this bus.

Because of him, the Rs are fighting. Is that nothing?
