I'll tell you where the pressure will come from: THE MEDIA. They will LIE through their teeth telling the low information voters that grandma and grandpa aren't getting their social security checks so they can't eat, can't go to the doctor, and that the "tea party wing of the Republican party" is trying to kill them.
Don't know if you remember the last government shutdown, however with the exception of the tea party mention above, the Media told the entire country Republican's were trying to kill grandma and grandpa, and that our military wasn't getting paid.
It worked, Republican's folded.
History is doomed to repeat itself here because the Republican Party doesn't have the message out that a "shutdown" doesn't mean Grandma and Grandpa will go hungry, homeless or die.

We can only hope! We won the last shutdown BIG TIME! The budget was brought under control which is what the battle was all about. Also, with no conservative, or honest media, in the market at the time the Pubs ended up only losing 2 seats in the House.
