I hope they execute him!!
“The only legal grounds for seizing a ship in those waters, Simons said, are illegal fishing, illegal broadcasting, causing serious pollution or piracy”
Ah, so this explains the charge. It was the only one they could apply. What happened to terrorism? That doesn’t apply in a Martine context? What was the Achille Lauro?
The seed planted by the KGB 70 years ago bears fruit—in the KGB’s backyard. This is funny stuff.
Headline that should have been:
“Green piece tries to be edgy like the sea shepherd trailer trash, fails in epic hippie stupidity spectacle.”
Subtitle: even the sea shepherd fags know better than to mess with Russians.
They should have sunk the ship with all hands.
Hang him low so the dogs can gnaw on him !
It’s good to hear some good news from time to time.
Give the Russians credit...at least they aren’t afraid of the enviro-nazis or public opinion and actually charge and convict based upon the crime.
“Russia detained two activists on the rig Sept. 19 and seized the ship in the Pechora Sea on Sept. 20 . . .”
Now just for the record, September 19 was International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
I think these Greenpeace pests need to put a little more thought into their planning in the future (if they have a future).
that is his own fault, he took the risk
Keep him.
I keep agreeing more and more with Russia.
Putin is really becoming a hero. Making all the “right” moves.
Shoot everyone of them.
its like many of these groups, for example Occupy Wall Street, that think they can violate the law because various political forces in the government will line up to protect them.
the political forces in russia. wont line up to protect you. now you know.
Piracy is piracy. Bad move!
Check out some of the comments on the ComPost page before they delete them. “If someone did what they did to an American rig they would be dead upon suspician of being a terrorist. Some Americans should stop behaving like spoiled kids. This world is not the playground for people who feel their “ideals” have to be imposed with impunity to everybody else ... just because they happen to hold a US passport.”
If the Russians are smart, they’ll give these pirates about 25 years in prison, and then offer to exchange them for Russians that the US has imprisoned for questionable activities when those Russians traveled outside of Russia.
Isn’t this guy wanted in other countries too?
