One of the last holdouts. A very conservative company and they just went belly up. They will even offer benefits to "married" couples in states that ban gay marriage. All thanks to the US Supreme Court and the fact that conservatives simply don't care.

“...offering benefits to legally married same-sex couples in the U.S...”

Koch Industries and all of their subsidiaries will do the same.
I got my notice in company email today.

I thought gays were supposed to be socially conscious. Why would they want to work for a “horrible, ecology wrecking” company like Exxon?

There are plenty of oil field jobs for those who will agree to Exxon’s social and political pathologies without argument.

5/29/2013 For the 14th straight year, ExxonMobil shareholders overwhelmingly rejected by 81% a proposition to incorporate into the companys written non-discrimination policy language explicitly prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The ExxonMobil Board of Directors, in a proxy statement, recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal:
The Board has reviewed in detail ExxonMobils existing global policies that prohibit all forms of discrimination, including those based on sexual orientation and gender identity, in any Company workplace, anywhere in the world. In fact, ExxonMobils policies go beyond the law and prohibit any form of discrimination. Based on these existing all-inclusive, zero-tolerance policies, the Board believes the proposal is unnecessary.
