Amen. State legislatures should be selecting our Senators, NOT inner-city voters thru open primaries and massive fraud.

the reason it was changed was because of corruption. we ended up with more corruption. what does that tell us?

I guess the 'unappeasables' were right all along.

I'm looking forward to the next 'moderate' republican lecturing me about the importance of being a 'team player'.

Good morning.

This situation was created by the 17th amendment.

Yep, no doubt about it.

I would predict tha if the RINOs led by Mitch McConnel & john Cornyn vote yes on cloture this morning, giving a balcnk check to Democrat leader, Harry Reid to remove defund Obamacare from the House CR, it will destroy the RINO group within the Republican party. The GOP present leadership will no longer be effective and will be removed from their positions. I believe the RINOs will bless obamacare this morning, but not nearly with amajority of Republicans. Cruz, Lee, Rubio & Paul will own the senate from this afternoon foward....and we will see a different game entirely from the Pubbie side of the aisle. So....what to do this morning for us good guys. Keep calling both the RINOs & the “Red State” Democrat Senators and urge them to vote “no” on cloture!!! And....most importantly, the #1 item is to go on the internet and get on web site. WWW.DONTFUNDOBAMACARE.COM...and, sign/endorse it immediately, this morning!!! Last time I checked it was at 1,850,000 signatures and climbing rapidly. Do it, right now!!! Folks, we must never give up to the tyranny that is Obamacare and Obama, the wpould be destroyer of the American Republic!!! The American people are on our side!!! Fight, fight, fight!!!

I doubt we could ever get rid of voting for senators and I’m not sure we should but they should not be elected by statewide popular vote.

I personally would assign a certain number of votes per district within the state and the winner of the most districts would win.

*Mark the names of Republican senators who vote with Reid and replace them in their next primary.*

DO NOT vote for these selfish traitors to America!
There names should be circulated all over the Internet just before the next election. Here's to any senators, especially RINO’s NEVER holding any type of public office again.

They will wear the mark of Cain and live the rest of their lives in disgrace.

If Obamacare goes through, I hope that the Dems that voted for their Anti-American vipers vote every last one of them out of office once they realize what a horrifying nightmare Obamacare is!

I guess none of us should be surprised at how ignorant even our own Republican vote folks are on this issue. Most do not realize that a cloture vote is still a vote to fund ObamaCare.

OK, other scenario -
if cloture isn’t passed,
it requires 60 votes to amend the house bill?

And that will require only a majority (John McCain and Susan Collins will probably vote for it so their pals the democrats can say it was “bipartisan”)

Or provide cover for Prior,Landreiu,Begitch and Hagan.

Those who vote for cloture have declared political suicide. They own their vote and there is a publically available record for them to beaten to a pulp in the primaries.

So, to be clear. A vote “for” Cloture would allow Reid to move to fund Obozocare within the CR?

YES! It would allow Reid to strip the language out that prevents O-care funding,,and it would allow Reid to then call a vote after that to get the CR passed without any discussion or ammendment,,,,so voting YES on cloture gives Reid and the Dems tons of power.

That’s why Cruz is screaming to vote “NO” on cloture. That’s the simple message we all have to get out today. Vote NO on cloture. Vote NO on cloture.

The GOP leadership fashioned their own noose over the years, and by the end of today, their whores in the Senate will have kicked the chair out from under themselves believing someone will cut the rope and resuscitate them.

Fat chance.

It is revolt because both parties have been working to eliminate true American values so that we can be just like everyone and everywhere else. The American people are standing in the gap between liberty and tyranny.

Refusing to succumb = revolt against that status quo. We must not back down.

I find this encouraging, very encouraging. A way for the House pubbies to support the Cruz conservatives in the Senate. I wonder if Louie Gohmert had something to do with this. I see his name on the list.

I must thank him!

If cloture isn’t passed, then the “debate” continues. And Reid and the democrats would be forced into a different plan. It would be up in the air at that point. But amendments wouldn’t necessarily require 60 votes unless agreed to by unanimous consent.
