They rarely discuss issues...maybe because of money. Will people leave the TV on if real issues are discussed or only if they can hear about Cyrus. Does the majority of the American public have a TV star mentality? What about the high paid sports stars? Have any of the gossip newspapers gone under? Maybe someone should start a DC or political gossip paper and slip in an issue or two to educate them.

Do people even watch the news? I don’t, but I only get ABC. I can read faster than people talk.

It is has long been an axiom of tv news presenters (and even most pols) that the average person has such a short attention span and/or limited interested in delving into issues that they automatically turn off most discussions of issues that start going too deep. Reagan was the last president I can remember who could get off an effective short speech/message inveighing against big government. Certainly, most “news” outlets refuse to go deep on any issue...unless it is some sort of demagogic plea for a liberal position. You’ve certainly never heard any lib talking head discuss the constitutionality of any issue like Obamacare. All to the negative for the average American.
