If someone had made a favorable comment about the Japanese, he/she would be tarred and feathered and sent out of town if he/she lived long enough. The Muslim killers are the Japanese of old today.
The sad thing was that most Japanese Immigrants from back then were very hard working and assimilated even better than the chinese immigrants did back then.
Too bad the pendulum has swung WAY to far the other way where ill behaving immigrant groups are set up on a pedistal and normal citizens are demonized for no good reasons..
I read an account by a Nisei woman who had been in a camp as a girl in Idaho or somewhere. She was against it, you got the feeling, understandably. But the portrait she painted of many among the grandparents' generation was definitely non-assimilated and pro-Japanese-conquer-everybody-including-Yankee-dog. And of course there were young men who felt the same way. And young men who enlisted to fight for us and racked up medals for heroism. Tough situation. Charity conquers all.
