I agree with you and the poster you responded to. It is a trick to keep the sheep pacified. Will it work? Read the responses and judge for yourself. In my opinion is that it work perfectly. The sheep will never suspect that they have been had one more time until it is too late.
You just now seeing that.
The GOP and the Democrats have the same goal. They just differ on how to get there.
I don’t believe that for a minute. Roberts had nothing to lose if she retired. And he has nothing to gain if she stays. Somebody is feeding you a line of bullshit.
You got more confidence in them than I have. What is the ratio of Republicans attacking Cruz to Democrats attacking Cruz?
I’ll that sH## for $100.00, Alex.
A one year delay means nothing except the GOP will not think about it until 11 months and 15 days have passed.
Yeah, that may be the ticket.
That stategy worked well with getting rid of Social Security, why wouldn't it again with ObamaCare?
Hey Boehner.....just send the Senate THE ORIGINAL Obamacare Bill......in it's original form WITHOUT any exceptions, exclusions etc....dims heads exploding all over
Borhner is a liar. Please people!! Understand the “Discharge petition rule” in the house. Here is the scenario . Boehner requires some sop in the Senate bill. Then it comes back and all the Democrats and 17 republirats sign a petition to force a vote at the final hour because” we don’t want to husrt”government parasites. IT PASSES! IT PASSES! and all the weak republirats( and Bone head) hide in a lie.!! I told you so.
“Bone-us is doing this to give democrats cover for the elections in 2014, this way voters will not feel any pain before the election as the result of Obamacare.”
that would so suck. that means this whole country is just one big deception.
If Obamacare is funded, the subsidies starting in January will constitute a morphine drip from which Americas health-care system will not recover. If not stopped now, Obamacare is forever.
Everyone harps on the mandate. Delaying the mandate has little effect on all of the horrible stuff. Premiums will still go through the roof. Damn near everything else bad will not be mitigated at all. Employers will not hire during the “delay”, they will not restore benefits that have been lost and will continue to layoff, cut hours and benefits in anticipation of the end of the “delay”. The genie is out of the bottle, they’ve all figured it out. They know a delay is not making it or its onerous regulations go away.
My insurance costs and doctor access are destroyed. Delaying the mandate simply means that the government won’t fine me for now being unable to afford insurance. BFD.
How about a “forever” delay?
“That day means that the cloture vote will be on a Saturday, that the bill will go back to the House on a weekend, and that the Senate can get a new Bill from the House on the final day possible, and that it could call for a delay.”
Hmmmm. Methinks you’ve got a point there, FRiend.
“I keep hearing that implementation is the best strategy, but I keep thinking thats what we were fighting against for the last 3 years.”
Kind of like losing badly today so you can win someday later...maybe?
No thanks. I say fight the good fight, but recognize that a delay is more time we get to beat on how horrible this POS law is.
Thanks.
I agree with you and Rush.
“I mean, the idea that we can’t stop it so just let it collapse is akin to, “Go ahead and let the Democrats win and let people see how rotten the country gets and they’ll never get reelected again.” That was a strategery that people wanted to employ with Clinton in 1992. It never works. It assumes that every voter is top-flight informed and is aware of the ideological differences in the two parties — and they aren’t. “
Not to mention that it won’t collapse, we’ll just end up with horrible healthcare at a huge cost.
As Rush Limbaugh says, we don’t need to implement ObamaCare to hang it around the democrats necks. Everyone already knows it’s their baby. All we accomplish is allowing the obamacare industry to flourish and acquire power and weapons of economic warfare in their positions of influence.
Rush says that our problem is the media owns low information voters. Best to avoid it ever being implemented and avoid implementation by any strategy that works at the time.
Sometimes a delay is a good strategy. In fact, it was George Washington’s strategy at the beginning of the Revolutionary War.

***On July 2, 1776, General Washington stirred his troops with these words:
The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the conduct and courage of this army.
The events of one extraordinary day, just one month later, both confirmed Washingtons faith and demonstrated the miraculous intervention of God in the course of Americas destiny.
Faced with the fact of Americas declared independence, the British military command determined that the key to suppressing the rebellion lay in the domination of New York. Whichever army controlled access to the Hudson River controlled the lines of supply for the colonies North and South of this strategic zone.
Under the command of General William Howe, the British quickly established a formidable presence in New York, their only impediment being the American-held town of Brooklyn.
It was here on the western end of Long Island that General George Washington found himself nearly surrounded, outnumbered more than three to one by a better-trained, better-equipped enemy. However, when circumstances seemed to spell defeat, a miraculous series of events began to unfold.
Amazingly, the very capable and seasoned General Howe failed to capitalize on his obvious military advantage. Throughout the afternoon, the evening and the following morning, Washingtons forces tensed for an attack which never materialized.
By the afternoon of August 28, northeast winds drove a chilling rain across the East River, preventing the British fleet from launching any offensive maneuver.
Inspired by the delay, General Washington formulated a daring strategy of escape. Under the storms cover, he began to remove his beleaguered army by small boats, enabling them to join other American forces a full mile behind enemy lines. As night fell, the inclement weather dissipated, and still Washingtons army continued its evacuation without detection.
But as the morning sun dawned, the Americans calculated that at least 3 more hours were needed to transport the last of the 8,000 troops.
What happened next is best described by one who was actually there.
Major Ben Tallmadge, a member of the Continental Army, wrote:
At this time, a very dense fog began to rise, and it seemed to settle in a peculiar manner over both encampments. I recollect this providential occurrence perfectly well. And so very dense was the atmosphere that I could scarcely discern a man at six yards distance. We tarried until the sun had risen, but fog remained as dense as ever.
What the British discovered when the fog lifted was an empty and abandoned encampment. Washingtons army had seemingly vanished, along with all their provisions, cannons and even horses. Instead of defeat, the Americans experienced a temporary setback and regrouped to fight on at a future successful day.
General George Washington recognized Gods hand on his life during the Revolutionary War
I was but the humble agent of a favoring Heaven, whose benign influence was so often manifested in our behalf and to whom the praise of victory alone is due.***
The talk is about delaying the mandate. That changes almost nothing.
If more than that is to be delayed, I’d like to know what. I’m still likely to have unaffordable insurance come Jan 1.
