(Many years ago...I acknowledge) When I was in school, they had a “President’s physical fitness test”. I think it was started under JFK administration. You could get patches and/or certificates for doing well on fitness tests that were given a couple times each year. Does anyone know what happened to that program? I doubt they could give those anymore, since they actually measured performance and might make some children feel bad about themselves.

apparently, it has just recently been replaced... i remember never passing that test... only because i could NOT do the needed amount of pull-ups/chin-ups... my arms were so skinny and not very strong... everything else, i did well... :)

I’ll tell you what happened to it. The Hippie teachers became Administrators and saw Gym Class as a way the government would have us in good shape so we could be Drafted and breeze through Boot Camp.
