Ronald Reagan didn’t pick GHWB the GOPe did. They said they needed to “balance” the ticket....a conservative with a northeast “moderate”. When they were running in the primaries, GHWB called Reaganomics, “Voodoo Economics”. I could never forgive him for that and completely caved, bent over and grabbed his ankles to the DemocRATS when he broke his famous promise....”read my lips, no new taxes”.
Look it up. They wanted him to pick Gerald Ford, and he met with Gerald Ford. He should have said, “no,” to Bush.
