The government is spying on essentially everything we do. It is not just “metadata” … although that is enough to destroy your privacy

“We have learned that in pursuit of its bureaucratic mission to obtain signals intelligence in a pervasively networked world, the NSA has mounted a systematic campaign against the foundations of American power: constitutional checks and balances, technological leadership, and market entrepreneurship. The NSA scandal is no longer about privacy, or a particular violation of constitutional or legislative obligations. The American body politic is suffering a severe case of auto-immune disease: our defense system is attacking other critical systems of our body“.

“We collect this information for many important reasons: for one, it could provide the United States and our allies early warning of international financial crises which could negatively impact the global economy. It also could provide insight into other countries’ economic policy or behavior which could affect global markets.”

“The authors of the [NSA slides] draw a comparison with “1984,” … revealing the agency’s current view of smartphones and their users. “Who knew in 1984 that this would be Big Brother …” the authors ask, in reference to a photo of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. And commenting on photos of enthusiastic Apple customers and iPhone users, the NSA writes: “… and the zombies would be paying customers?

O’Reily had an expert on who told him basically this same stuff. O’Reily felt he knew more than the expert and told him he doubted the NSA had gone that far.

Snowden and Greenwald did the country a bigtime solid. Exposing the wholly unconstitutional spying on the american public helped point out total liars like mike rogers and helped unmask statist opportunists like michelle bachman. On a broader level it’s helped to confirm to some and awaken others to the fact that the united states stopped operating as a constitutional representative republic a looooong time ago.

Absolutely...

Most knew damn well the way things were going in the U.S. for the past few decades that the government at all levels was corrupt to the core.

Well...it’s been 100% totally substantiated and confirmed...

And these liars get up on the radio and TV like nothing ever happened as they pretend to be honest leaders...

What an epic farce.

Thanks, but I’m not surprised...To be honest I haven’t’ watched the TV political shows like Orilly for 2 years or so...

Thanks to the Internet, I believe there are much better legitimate news sources and independent venues for news than TV.

In October, there is a “Livestream” tv event re: NSA and facebook. It might be propaganda though. Zuckerberg is on a lot of panels and he’s a flip flopper imo.

NICELY researched.

I agree with you.

But the phrase, “statist opportunists like michelle bachman”.

Educate me about this?

We’re talking about someone who made her chops in government by helping extract hard earned money in interest and penalties out of americans during the five years she spent as a lawyer with the IRS. Pretending to have turned over a new leaf in 2010, she hopped on the tea party bandwagon. Lots of talk about getting government out of our lives and respecting the constitution and the founders, humping that tea party leg all the way to the Ame’s straw poll in 2012. Then the NSA sh*t hit the fan over the summer. After learning that the federal government has been recording almost every phone call and email in direct violation of the constitution that she claimed to have so much respect, does she denounce the NSA? obama? Homeland security? Clapper, who perjured in congressional, sworn testimony? No...but she did make it a point to call Snowden a traitor for filling us in on what was being done. THAT is the kind of two faced bitch I’m talking about.

O’Riely has always been a year or two behind on what is actually happening. He denies it, and his brain finally figures out that it’s here.

I had had hope for Bachman. Alas she has fallen in line with the statists.

Good post!

A lot of people didn’t look too far past the surface with her. Being kind of MILFy and having a nice rack has the effect on a lot of guys. I’ve been burned by prettier so I’m a little more conditioned to not take things at face value, especially when politicians are involved.
