As Ted Cruz continued to hold the Senate floor, his senior GOP colleague from Texas was calling in to local radio stations expressing general support for the effort while noting a significant tactical disagreement.
“Ted’s been a great addition to the United States Senate,” Sen. John Cornyn said on KTSA. “He and I were dove hunting in Hondo this weekend together and we both agree that we need to defund and delay and defeat Obamacare to protect the American people.”
But Cornyn, the Republican whip, is in the camp along with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., that plans to support limiting debate on the underlying House-passed continuing resolution, since that measure itself would block funding for the 2010 health care law that Cruz and other senators have spent all night speaking against on the Senate floor.
“I can’t see voting against that bill, which is what we’ve been asking for — for the last six months,” Cornyn said.

Cornyn is voting with Harry Reid to fund ObamaCare by enabling Reid to strip the House defunding language from their bill with a Democrat majority vote of 51. We’re not stupid, Cornyn. Get ready to be primaried next year.

Cornyn is circling the bowl. All Texans can consider this senator dead to them. He is has exposed his true colors and will clearly support the democrats looking to bring down this country and its infrastructure. I’m not sure when Cornyn will be up for re-election (this year?), but I hope there will be a true conservative who will win the primary and take his spot next to Ted to fight back for this country.

I did call Portman who lives here in SW Ohio to oppose cloture on 59. Didn't even bother with Sherrod Brown.
Cornyn has to be defeated next year. He stabbed the country in the back. He’s no better than McCain and Lindsey Graham.
I couldn’t get through to Cornyn’s offices yesterday so, I composed a polite but scathing email ripping his strategy of waiting to deconstruct Obamacare until after the midterms .
Doubt it’ll do any good .

If you are like me you will get an e-mail back from his office acting like you complimented him. IOW they don’t read them.
Mail box is full and phones are busy. tried 4 times this AM. Called office in Austin, full. Called office in Tyler, got through and told girl not to vote for cloture. She acted surprised I would want that. I had to explain how this worked. She assured me Cornyn was against ObamaCare. I said, then vote against cloture. She said she would pass it on.
Would love it, if true!
What am I missing here? Cornyn, McConnell, and other French Republicans will vote in favor of the House CR, but they will also vote for closure. I still think it is possible to vote against closure (which enables a filibuster) AND support the House CR. Am I mistaken?
Regardless, now is the time to help “gird the loins” of our Representatives. If they stay strong, the Dems will fold like a cheap suit.
