With a potential government shutdown looming in less than a week, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas said it would be nonsensical for his fellow Republicans to support any effort to bring government to a halt over the health care law.
I don't think it's a good option, Perry told The Fine Print. There's still time to sit down and try to fix Obamacare.

Are you a Perry supporter? No one made him jump on the Rino bandwagon. He leapt all by himself.
“I like Perry but he did support the establishment candidate over Cruz in the election. He is wrong. Why do they only think in terms of fixing a bad legislation? How much fixing ever gets done in DC?”
Oh come on! Perry is a douche bag, and he’s not very smart to boot! Texas needs to elect a whole lot more Ted Cruz’ and a whole lot fewer Perry’s (and Cornyn’s and Dewhurst’s, etc.) Like everywhere else, Texas has the talent, they just need to be smart enough to elect it.
Perry still thinks we are heartless
“Perry still thinks we are heartless”
Yeah, and he’s one of those “low Testosterone, invertebrate” RINOs!
RINO Jelly
I don't see it as propaganda. I think that the public gradually began to see that the "Intelligence", which was used as the justification for Iraq, was phony and contrived.
I know that it was a gradual realization for me.
And it was made worse by the fact that something that was supposed to take 18 months, took more than 8 years. And cost a lot of blood and money.
Which takes you back to McCain and Romney. Both of them ran on NeoCon foreign policies and the public had had enough of the NeoCons during the Bush Presidency. If you look at all the GOP candidates in 2012, all of them ran NeoCon, except for Huntsman.
I don’t think the RINOS get it. If Obamacare happens on October 1 and the country goes to crap in 2014, the MSM is going to blame Republicans for not stopping it since they run congress.
They are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. So why compromise?
The RINO’s are simply closet Democrats. They do not want what we want.
I support Cruz. Perry never has.
No, the guy who got the nomination got it because none of the others could survive without shooting themselves in the foot. Cain had multiple women problems. Gingrich screwed himself with his staff issues (and, I’m told, his wife’s butt-inski methods). Santorum was conservative but had a horrible track record of winning elections. You can’t beat something with nuthin.
I’ll just wait and see where Cruz comes down on foreign policy. As a generalization, Cuban republicans are NeoCons.
Perry just wants to give all those illegal aliens free medical care so he can buy votes with it.
Actually there are three reasons he did not get to first base 1) he started to late 2) he didn’t have sufficient money 3).................... OOPS!
Perry’s still pissed because his buddy Dewhurst got a good old A$$kicking!!!
Grudges in politics are ugly things. Moreover they hurt Americans.
And if you get cheated you deserve to lose. Sorry, Perry was a lame candidate and constantly shot himself in the foot with his “debate” answers. If Romney had run against Obama the way he ran against the other Republican’s he’d be in the White House now. But if the other Republicans had been better at defeating Romney, the story would be different. When you know someone is cheating, it’s up to you to either change the rules or adapt.
The RNC had no intention of winning.
These lightweights don’t seem to understand how to play the media. How would Cruz’ filibuster even be a news story if the threat of shutting down the government wasn’t on the table? That’s what gives his endeavor some teeth to it and makes it a story that has to be covered. And that allows him to make his voice heard and get the facts out there on Obamacare, in turn helping chip away at support for it the same way Reagan chipped away at the USSR. Unbelievable how these people can’t think outside the box.
Meanwhile, Cruz is right that if the public lights up the switchboards, they could defund it now. But even if that doesn’t happen, which his own team stabbing him in the back makes more likely, reminding the public about the problems with Obamacare helps to repeal it in the long-term. How in the world does shutting up and not saying anything about it or fighting it every chance you get help to build up any movement to repeal it?
