Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday called the Holocaust a reprehensible crime committed by the Nazis against the Jewish people, but said it was up to historians to determine the scale of what happened.
But Rouhani went on to take a swipe against Irans archfoe Israel, which was founded after World War Two as a Jewish state in part of what had been British-mandate Palestine.
This does not mean that on the other hand you can say Nazis committed crimes against a group, now therefore they must usurp the land of another group and occupy it, he said. This too is an act that should be condemned. There should be an evenhanded discussion.

Even-handed? Stop lying against Israel, Rowhani; then things will be even-handed, for a start that is.

So, unlike his predecessor, he admits there was a Holocaust?

The mullahs ruling Iran had Ahmadinejad as their “bad cop.” Now, they’re having Rouhani act as their “good cop.”

He apparently admits that something bad happened, but he wants to “leave it up to historians” to determine the “true” extent, which sort of throws a bone to the deniers.

The hard line still of course exists against Israel and their “Great Satan” alleged patron.

Hassan Rouhani officially wins Iranian presidency, meets with Khamenei Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog ^ | 6/16/2013 | Joel C. Rosenberg
Excerpt:
"
It is now official: Hassan Rouhani has officially won Irans presidential elections. But make no mistake he is not the moderate the media and Western politicians are portraying him as. He is a Radical Shia cleric who is loyal to the Ayatollah Khamenei. But he has been chosen because he will try to provide a new face of the regime, one that will appear to be more pragmatic and willing to cooperate with the West, in contrast to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "

So no, he's no better than Ahmadinejad. And he plans to nuke us in the U.S.A. and the rest of the West, so there will be a war. He's slicker, though, and trickier.

Towel Boy just barely acknowledged that the Holocaust took place. Thanks Olog-hai.
