Sticks and stones may break bones, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid just hopes his words are enough to get Republicans to back off Obamacare.
Were not going to bow to Tea Party anarchists who deny the mere fact that Obamacare is the law, Reid said this morning.
That was just the start of it, though.
Reid used words like "fanatic" and "extremist" to describe Republicans threatening to hold up a budget until Congress votes to defund Obamacare and its exchanges, which open for enrollment in eight days.
Are Republicans so intent on undermining President Obama and the signature health care law that theyre willing to inflict severe damage to our economy in the process? Reid asked. If Democrats dont bow to every demand they have, were going to go right over the cliff...Americans will know exactly who to blame Republican fanatics in the House and Senate.
Reid was not directing his words at the entire GOP. He was more interested in pulling Republicans away from the Obamacare cliff by turning its members against each other.
I see more of my moderate Republican colleagues stepping up to speak sense to an extremist element of their own party, Reid said. A few reasonable Republicans are wise enough to know that risking the nations economic recovery for the sake of a pyrrhic ideological victory would be another step toward a death knell for the Republican Party.
I say to the House and Senate Republicans who continue to deny reality...listen to the chorus all around you. Listen to what theyre saying, Reid said. Your conservative Senate colleagues urge you off this reckless course...What remains to be seen is whether my Republican colleagues on both sides of the capitol are wise enough to listen.

“Anarchism is a political philosophy that advocates stateless societies based on non-hierarchical free associations. Anarchism holds the state to be undesirable, unnecessary, or harmful. While anti-statism is central, some argue that anarchism entails opposing authority or hierarchical organization in the conduct of human relations, including, but not limited to, the state system.”

If Harry Reid calls the Tea Party anarchists, then the Tea Party should respond by calling Harry Reid a communist.
I agree, the dude is nothing but corrupted scum and needs to pay and it might be more appropriate to publicly hang him and all the other corrupted DC politician traitors.
Exactly right! That is if the Repubbies actually GROW A SPINE and stay resolute with Defunding.
Ted Cruz has shown them how and is leading the way.
We can just project right back at Dingy...
What about the anarchists in the Senate who refuse to pass a budget, thereby forcing the abuse of regular order with "continuing resolutions?"
Without a budget, there can be no reconciliation committees between the House and Senate. Everything becomes a crisis, which Reid expects will always break the Democrats' way.
He's really the anarchist.

“If Harry had any respect for the U.S. Constitution or the American people, he would find an intellectually honest approach to argue his position on the merits.”
Exactly right!
The Republicans need to now teach Harry and a large # of Americans what they did not learn in the diploma mills of leftist indoctrination - (1) The House is CLOSEST to the people; (2) The House is NOT A HOUSE SERVANT to the Senate; (3) Elections have CONSEQUENCES; (4) This is what happens when LEFTISTS ram a partisan hack, no Republican input, special interest-ghost written 2000 law voted on as unread (Jack*sses have a literacy problem) w/o sufficient Congressional hearings run entirely by Jack*sses like Harry (5) Did not need the Republicans then, now the Jack*sses, (including the big non-negotiating Jack*ss who hangs out in the WH,)need the Republicans to allow this to move forward - EXCEPT the Founders made a system of government that gives WE THE PEOPLE a chance to remain free.
Grow up and deal with it Harry. God Bless those brave Tea Party Americans!
I’m sure Stalin used the same phrase “anarchists” for his enemies.
Walker: ANARCHY! ANARCHY!
Texas Ranger: I don't know what that means, but I LOVE it!
Not really. He is not exactly a communist either. He is an elitist, wants government to rule by decree and not be bound by any law or ideology.
He’s not stupid. Harry knows most of the pubes on the Hill are afraid of words.
FUHR
I love it. Don’t listen to the words, listen to the squealing. They’re afraid. Afraid that conservatives might not just take it this time.
Plantation owners were often quite fearful of an uprising.
I'd rather he died at the end of a rope.
Fix/vote is in. He wouldn’t flip off Cruz in the media if he wasn’t sure.
Cruz will fight another day. As will Lee and Rand. Who else in the Senate? Each one of the conservatives has to lead one fight or the other.
At least we get to the plate this congress.
I totally agree!!!
Tried to call his Nevada office, but it doesn’t list a #, go figure. I’ve never been called an anarchist. But, I’m in good company: Madison, Jefferson, Hancock, Washington, Adams, Franklin, Paine, ...
“By the end of his first term the Senate will be torn asunder.”
Excellent point! Now think of the possibilities if we had just 4 or 5 like him. 5 Senators heaven bent on making the Congress a sheer living hell for the kakistocrats.
Almost makes you want to run.
The debate is about the merits of ObamaCare now that a majority understands the law — and hates it. From AFL-CIO, to congressional staffers, to Trader Joe’s. It’s a turd. However, the media is playing this as Obamacare vs. Shutdown.
Conservatives need to talk about the law, not about the money.
