Saturday the streets of downtown Nacogdoches will be filled with guns.
"We stand for liberty, freedom, individual rights and the constitution," said Josie Harrison, TX Sons of Liberty Riders.
The Texas Sons of Liberty is group of Second Amendment advocates promoting gun law awareness.
Saturday they plan to take their cause to streets of Nacogdoches.
"We basically stand up for the constitution, so we go anywhere we feel the constitution needs to be upheld," said Harrison.
250 people are expected at the Come and Take It Nacogdoches Gun Rally.
The group had to obtain a permit from the city to ensure the closure of Pecan, Fredonia and Pilar streets to host the event.
"Under Texas law there is nothing illegal about carrying a gun in a public place," said Mike Kelly, Assistant Chief of Police.
Organizers say there will be various speakers, vendors and a march at Saturday's rally.
Nacogdoches Assistant Chief of Police Mike Kelly says these rallies have become common but safety is always a priority.
"These are people that believe strongly in the 2nd amendment right to bear arms and they are doing it in a legal manner," said Kelly.
Members of the group say their goal is to educate Texans on their rights."

Every day should be Come and Take It Day.
The legislative “leaders” would to well to rush to get to the head of this parade.
PING !
If I remember my Texas history correctly “ Come and Take It” was about a cannon. One of the most advanced arms of the day (so was Concord). The second amendment says arms not just guns. I want a 105 recoilless and a 40mm Befors.
Thanks, Graewoulf!
Spread the word: What is good for TEXAS is good for America !
Spread the word: What is good for TEXAS is good for America !
Amen to that!
Yup. Spread the word and have y’alls own style public show of support for The Second Amendment.
BTW, if y’all need a little target practice, pick off a few of the wild hogs, (legally, of course), that are tearing of the fields that our farmers and ranchers rely on to feed and clothe us.
Rumor has it that the wild hogs are part of the Russian Invasion - - - .
Thanks for the ping!
For my Texas pals....
