On Thursday, 13 people were shot and injured in a park in Chicago. The shootings were carried out by an assault style rifle with a high-capacity magazine, both of which are already banned in the city of Chicago. Nevertheless, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry F. McCarthy has called for a nationwide ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
Illegal guns drive violence. Military-type weapons, like the one we believe to have been used in this shooting, belong on a battlefield, not on a street or in a corner or in a park.
Chicago was named the murder capital of the United States by the FBI on Thursday, and has had more homicides this month than several states yearly total for 2011.
Let them try what they want in Chicago, if it works, then suggest it for elsewhere. But until it works in Chicago, then it should never be SUGGESTED for the rest of the country. Let them “experiment” on THEIR OWN problems.
McCarthy’s sister worked for me for 3 years. I have met him on many occasions. His wife is a cop also. They of course are hard core libs. What they actually need is not more regulations on guns but to take everyone who commits a murder in Chicago to be put on an island in the middle of shark infested waters, put a fence around the island and let them kill each other for every scrape of food. Give them each a gun with 6 bullets and no other tools for survival. End of problem.
I would venture a guess that the major percent of the shootings in Chicago NEVER included a high capacity magazines or an assault rifles. The “chief” is merely trying help odumbo and demodummies get their weapons ban.
To the “Chief”....Go fix your own problems in Chicago and when you do, come back and show us how you got that done.
Gun control laws have worked so well in Chicago - I can see why they’re trying to push their idiocy on the rest of the country.
“What were doing is not working so YOU DO IT, TOO.
