The Republicans won the 1995 shutdown. Nobody noticed any difference. They basically held their own in the House, gained 2 Senate seats, and got welfare reform and a balanced budget (at least on paper.)

Two big differences between today and 1995-96:
1. Bill Clinton was Newt Gingrich's b!tch back then. That's why he signed most of the 1994 Contract With America into law. Signing those things into law basically insulated Clinton from anything that Americans were all p!ssed off about.
2. Obama's one and only signature piece of legislation is a pile of steaming crap that nobody likes (even labor unions. for crying out loud) and cannot be defended.

Right conclusion, but a pathetic article. Didn’t even mention the entirely different media environment today. Absurd.

I wish I could agree with you. But I believe half the people in this country will allow their lives, their children’s lives and their grandchildren’s lives to be destroyed....all for obama. They worship him and will do anything for him. And I don’t think they’ll ever be convinced to turn against him.

Tomorrow may be different, things haven’t changed that mush. We can still affect change.

Vacation Guy wont be relevant at all come January 20, 2017, and may lose Congress completely in November 2014.
Obama is a symptom of Universal Suffrage.
That's the problem, and its solvable at the state level.
