You ask, when the GOP had Congress and the White House, how did the Dems get medicare expanded?

Answer: George Bush and Karl Rove.

It doesn’t need to pass the senate and no one expects it will. We just need the house to reject any amendment made by the senate that enables obamacare to go forward.

If it can’t be got rid of, we are finished as a free self reliant Nation. From listening to talk radio, reading letters to the editor, and just listening to people in general, I think that we are finished as a self reliant Nation anyway. Because very few of the young people reaching adulthood don’t know, and worse still are not interested in learning how to wipe their asses without being told to do so by a Government Bureaucrat. All they are interested in is what freebies are available to them and how much dope they can use. So after those 60 and older are dead, these younger ones are going to have a hard way to go when they will have to fend for themselves.

“Rand apparently believes the people are inconsequential.”

Lmao. You are too easily manipulated by the associated press. Just watch how he’ll vote.

A simple majority in the senate can restore funding to Obamacare. And a filibuster will shutdown the entire government. Anybody who is promising to defund obamacare now will not deliver.

And by the way, Cruz said the same thing that Rand is saying now a few days ago. Google it.

AP is running with a headline, but even from the limited content it’s clear that Paul was saying we can’t (with the current Congress) repeal it. He says defunding it would limit the harm it could do.

Don’t let the MSM trick you into a circular firing squad.

Likely not, we’ll just get rid of all the insurance company’s, doctors and hospitals. That will eventually fix social security also.

What the hell doesn't Rand Paul understand about "defund and it can't happen"?

No money, no implementation, what so damn hard to understand?
The dipsh-- bureaucrats in charge and their thug enforcers ain't going to work for free.

Rand Paul better straighten himself out on this and quick.

The idea is to get a huge group of Americans banging on the gates.

The notion is that they’ll fear the people and relent.

The Senate cannot write anything except a response to what the House initiates when it comes to funding.

If the majority of voters hate it, it can easily become history

"But a majority of the voters don't hate it."

Therein lies the rub...a majority of voters may very well hate it, but they will not be the voters who show up in lock-step, via bus, rail or absentee ballot to usher in the next Democatic Senate majority, House majority, President...

United WE stand, but divided, we fall.

I’d say his odds of becoming the next president just dropped big time.

He's stating an obvious fact. As long as the President is in office and has a Democrat-controlled Senate, there is no chance of repealing the thing. Be realistic.

Isn’t Rand Paul just stating the obvious?

Of course, he is. But the peanut gallery at FR doesn't want to acknowledge it.

Don’t tell us non-conservatives to go to hell.

Um, if you're not a conservative then you should find another site to post on...this is a conservative one.

Oh, and I didn't tell you to go to hell, I just pointed out the fallacy in your own post, and obviously struck a nerve.

And I'd keep the fact you're not a conservative to your self, you won't last here too long.
