Ultimately if the house decides it will not fund deathcare under any circumstances, then they could shut down the federal government indefinitely. Then it’s just a question of who blinks first.

I don’t think the gop wing of the uniparty has the courage or willingness to engage in this sort of brinksmanship. Cowardice is a hard habit to break. I guess we’ll see. And for the record, I will gladly eat my words should they be shown to possess a spine that has to date proven to be undetectable.

In the mean time I think we should make the phone calls to encourage the approach. It won’t hurt and it just takes a few minutes to dial them up. We should at least give them the opportunity to do the right thing. If they fail, then at least we’ve done our job.
