The European Commission has proposed to make it easier to ban legal highs and for countries to jail people who ignore the bans.
Legal highs are chemicals which replicate the effects of illicit drugs such as cocaine, ecstasy or marijuana.
So far, EU countries have banned just nine substances on the basis of European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) recommendations. One reason for the low number is the long time it takesaround two yearsfor the EU process to work. But under Tuesdays proposals, the ECMDDA and the EUs joint police body, Europol, in the Hague, can impose a temporary ban on sales to consumers within weeks if a substance is deemed risky.

People are gonna put whatever they want into their bodies. No law is going to stop them. By the time the EU bans “legal highs”, they will have figured out something else to get around the law.
It’s stupid to even try. I guess decades of the failed WOD isn’t enough to learn that yet.
